Assisted passage on Nauticat 33 to Edinburgh

A friend of the owner, who was on board for the trip, writes in:”Both men were absolutely professional in their responsibilities to the boat and to the ever-changing crew and I had absolutely no doubts of their abilities and confidence to deliver the boat onward from Cuxhaven to Port Edgar. We all learned so much from Bill and Simon’s professional outlook and commitment to their duties and responsibilities and it was a true pleasure to have met and worked with them.”

Oyster 625. Oyster Regatta (Crew supply)

Nigel,

Good to meet you in Palma last week. Fortunately the forecast was wrong each day and we had a good sailing week!

Thanks for all PYD has done to facilitate trouble free movement and berthing around the Med….. and indeed for Guy during the regatta. He is an impressive young man..

Best

Simon

Clients on board for cold North Sea passage on new boat

Dear Phil,Please accept my apologies for leaving it so long before writing to you, our only excuse is that we have been spending every spare moment sailing and tinkering with our new possession Castor.Although we have already expressed our appreciation to you and the delivery crew Stuart and Peter, I would just like to say a few words in recognition of the professionalism we have experienced at the hands of PYD.Sailing back from Sweden on an off shore passage of some seven hundred miles in March was a first for Chantal and myself, experiencing heavy seas with force 7, 8 winds day after day and the occasional 9 was something Chantal could never in her lifetime have imagined. However, at no time did we feel unsafe or frightened, wet, cold, uncomfortable yes, but never concerned for our safety. I put this down to unreserved confidence in both the crew and the boat. The experience and confidence we have both gained has been priceless and we will remember for ever the maiden voyage of Caster with contentment. We will also never forget the confidence and professionalism of its delivery Skipper and first mate together with the continuing hands on approach we experienced from you personally.Should we ever need the services of a delivery crew again or be asked to recommend one, we would without question rate your service at 100% satisfaction.David & Chantal Clarence Marina, Gosport

High praise from Pantaenius

We last delivered this client's boat, from the Caribbean, eight years ago. They wrote the other day as follows:”Dear Phil, Hope all is well with you. We have been looking at the most recent pilot and find it would be better for us if you could pick up our boat in Bari instead of Palermo arriving on the Clyde at the same time as before? What would be the extra costs involved and what would be the timing? Sorry to muck you around. PS We spoke to Pantaenius recently to cover the trip and heard from THEM that you were the best in the business. We already knew so!”

Owner's report after a month's gardiennage on an Oyster 47 in Valencia

Boat in excellent condition inside and out. Decks particularly good and everything down below stowed. So do please pass our thanks to James and please pay him a £200 bonus for all his efforts.(Our only surprise was to find that they have all but dismantled any evidence of the Americas Cup ,taken away restaurants / chandlery etc!!)So thanks for all your help……(please tell Brian we can now get 7 knots with the new prop and overheating seems much better, probably cured).Good days sailing today with weather to match….pyd note: Having an experienced Mate or Skipper on board for a period of gardiennage can be an inexpensive way of ensuring that your boat is kept safe and that a work schedule is properly carried out and supervised. In this case a yard bill was reduced by €2000 after the pyd skipper queried the hours worked on a particular job.

A Mate from pyd helps make things go smoothly

Dear PhilThank you for providing a Mate to help us with our cruise last month. He was just what we needed, not only extremely competent but someone who fitted in with us, easily and unobtrusively. It was some challenge, because we were sailing with a group who were not quite as wrinkly as us, but must have seemed pretty aged to him. They all liked him and all were seeking his advice. An excellent ambassador for PYD – thank you again.Yours trulyChris
