During the course of a year pyd have the privilege of delivering some extremely nice boats, often on behalf of some fairly high profile clients. However we haven’t previously been involved even peripherally with the rarefied world of F1 motor racing and it was quite an honour to be asked to deliver an Oyster 655 for Eddie Jordan’s family trust out to the Caribbean
With instructions only confirmed a few days before the crew joining date we certainly broke a few lap records to put the arrangements in place, but rest assured that, whilst we anticipate a fast passage on what is a very high quality boat, we’ll be making sure Mr. Jordan’s new yacht, just like the other 250 we will have delivered in 2010, is handled with the utmost care on her way to the Caribbean.
David Tydeman, Oyster CEO, said: “I’m delighted that Eddie is joining the Oyster fleet through his family trust’s purchase of an Oyster 655. I’m sure he’ll have a great time sailing the Oyster 655, which combines sparkling performance with great comfort. I’ve been a fan of F1 for years and admired Eddie’s successes with his race teams and I regularly listen to his BBC commentary on the F1 Grand Prix. I look forward to welcoming him to our Oyster regattas and hearing his commentary after he’s taken part! We’re delighted that Eddie will attend the London Boat Show in January 2011 where we will be exhibiting an Oyster 655 and Oyster 54.”
Eddie Jordan said: “Having taken up sailing in recent years with a smaller yacht, I’m really looking forward to moving up in size and sailing the Oyster 655. It will be great to be sailing in high levels of quality and style. Oyster is a great British company and, together with my advisers, we hope this is the start of a long relationship.”
