Earlier this year pyd joined up with the World Cruising Club to be corporate sponsors of all their rallies Worldwide, including the ARC. It’s fitting therefore that, apart from more than a dozen boats that we will have delivered down to Las Palmas for the November start of this iconic event, we will have three skippers, each on 62 footers, competing in this year’s rally. Bryan Walker, with over 100 pyd deliveries under his belt and freshly back from Newfoundland, is skippering the brand new Oyster 625 ultimately destined for the Miami Boat Show, whilst Scott Comben is on board the Moody 62 Gin and Tonic and Stewart Coultous, again,(!) takes over the helm of the Hallberg-Rassy 62 Fair Lady. All these boats will have clients on board and that’s a tribute to the fact that pyd skippers bring that extra something, beyond pure seamanship, to the chart table.
